As a child growing up in her father’s woodworking shop, Tracy Johnson
early developed a love of intricate design and handcrafted arts.
Inspired by the striking austerity of the Pacific coast, the exotic
brilliance of Bali, and today, the fragrant gardens surrounding her
ocean-side studio in Maine, Tracy Johnson’s appreciation of nature in
its pure essence is manifest in her every design.
The sophisticated artistry in Tracy’s work has evolved over 25 years,
selecting the finest gemstones, often rare and unusual, and surrounding
them in high-karat gold settings. Each piece is an original—primitive,
and classically elegant—custom designed to
honor
the innate brilliance of the stone itself. Her work eloquently fuses
historical lost-wax carving methods with state-of-the-art precision in
fabrication techniques.
She enjoys working closely
with clients in developing designs to fit their taste, with wedding
rings being a special focus. As a service to her clientele, Tracy
often creates full-color illustrations during the design process.
Cherished as heirlooms by
many entertainers, artists, and private collectors, Tracy Johnson’s
pieces are often designed to be interchangeable: pendants become
brooches, earrings have detachable pearls. Her wish is for every piece
to be worn, enjoyed, and passed down for many generations to come.
Quite simply, the timeless
beauty of Tracy Johnson’s Fine Jewelry calls to the romantic in each of
us. Tracy Johnson is the
recipient of the Daniel Kany Gallery "Curator's Award" - May
2008
